Imagine that tonight, while you sleep, a magical fairy comes along with extra-super magical powers.
These magical powers are so amazing, they can remove any and all obstacles and give you the career or business of your dreams.
What would you be doing?
Who would you be with?
Where are you?
How did you create this stupendously magnificent career for yourself?
Now, you may be asking yourself “Where do I get one of these magical fairies?” or you might be thinking that there seems to be an unfortunate shortage of magical fairy wishes.
But the truth is…
You don’t need a magical fairy to remove all obstacles for you.
You have the power! You have the power to create a path full of limitless possibilities.
Imagine what your life would be like if you believed that you would succeed no matter what.
What would you do?
Success doesn’t come as a result of a magical fairy. Success comes when we free ourselves to believe.
When we believe in ourselves, we figure out a way to make it work no matter what. We open ourselves to possibilities.
We open ourselves to trying things we might not ordinarily do, but we do it because we trust that we will make it succeed.
Try a little experiment over the next week. Just imagine that you believed you would succeed no matter what.
What would you do?
Is there one thing you can do… today… to put you on your path to success?
If You Want to Succeed, You Have to Believe

Thanks Mara! Glad you like it. I use it as my mantra: “If I knew I would succeed what would I do?” and when the fears and self-doubts rear their ugly heads I tell them that if I listen to them I’m guaranteed NOT to succeed, but if I go for it it just might work
Hey Katie,
I could climb atop your words and ride them into the clouds! I think we’re related somewhere’s down the line:)

I loved your post today. Beautiful and so inspiring!
I’ll do some digging around to see if I can figure out the comment issue, thanks for letting me know.
Katie,
This is a good reminder for us to remember not to let limiting beliefs get in our way.
We have the choice to pursue any direction in life and when there is nothing stopping us we have the right to move forward.

Hey Justin,
So true! I think people forget they have choices and let life and others make choices for them by default. It’s so freeing when we remember that WE can choose.
Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Thanks Irene and Linda! So glad you liked it.
I love the premise of this. It’s giving yourself free rein to imagine what life would be like if we could do what we really wanted. A great coaching exercise…and then moving to taking the first concrete step. I sometimes tell clients to act as if….as if you were confident….as if you knew you’d meet somebody else….etc….Sometimes when you act that way, you start to feel it.
So many people think they need to wait until they feel a certain way before they do something, but it’s usually the opposite. If you go and “DO” something you’ll feel motivated, confident, etc. Or, act as if people are hoping you’ll show up and you suddenly notice people smiling at you.
Thanks Melanie.
Thanks for the reminder, Katie! It sometimes feels so long to get to a long-awaited goal (although there are mini-goals in between)..I’ve been working on a long-term goal for many years and it is just about to come to fruition..it feels so long!
Hi Katie! I just found you and I can tell I’m going to be spending a lot of time on this blog, I love it! This is a great post. After several years of depression and anxiety, I finally feel like I’ve come out on the other side and I’m ready to create my career. I’ve always been a creative person, but the pressure of making a living had me in creative paralysis for a while there. Now, I take a daily walk or run and tell myself that I’ll succeed, that I’m already succeeding, and I really believe it! It’s an incredible feeling and I can’t believe how my creativity is flowing like it hasn’t in years. Belief is a powerful thing. Fears=gone.
Hi Mckella,
I’m so glad you were able to overcome your depression and anxiety! It really is possible. I love taking walks, such a great way to burn off anxiety, stress, and get some clarity. You’re so right that belief is a powerful thing. When you believe you’ll succeed, you’ll do things to ensure that it happens. Can’t wait to here more.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Hope to see you here again soon,
Katie
I like this experiment I’m going to imagine I’m retired and living in my dream home in the mountains
